Artist Feature ~ Grace Cressman | We Ship Grace Cressman was born and raised in South Afric...a but has been a Canadian citizen since 1977. During her first holiday in Prince Edward Island she was enchanted with the scenery and way of life. She returned many times before moving to the Island. Her medium of choice is photography but she also has an interest in watercolour painting. Grace's photography features the gorgeous beaches, boats, harbours and lighthouses which remind her of her homeland, especially Cape Town, which also has fishing boats and magnificent seascapes. Since coming to the Island Grace has been working as a registered nurse but any spare time finds her wandering on the beaches and taking photos of boats, lighthouses, sunsets and sunrises. ARTIST OF THE DAY & NEW ITEMS We Ship Carly Boertien was born and raised in Fortune, PEI and she is now in her final year of an honou...rs economic degree at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, NS. In her off/free time she can usually be found taking photos of the local scenery or documenting her travels and adventures. As well she creates graphic designs and hand painted/embroidered jean jackets which you can find in store. Artist Feature Sharon Smith, a self-taught artist, is a resident of Stratford, PE, with experience painting in watercolour ...for 30 years and acrylics for approximately 10 years. The inspiration for most of her paintings comes from the beauty of the Island and the changing of the seasons. Artisan Of The Day Today’s featured artisan is Mary MacLean. Born and raised in P.E.I. Mary enjoys nature and animals and ...this is evident in her art. The landscapes, seascapes, flowers and animals of Prince Edward Island provide an endless supply of inspiration. Many of her paintings depict scenes in rural Kings County, P.E.I. where she spends the summer months. Mary’s goal is to create paintings which leave the viewer uplifted through beauty and colour. Mary creates a variety of techniques with acrylic paint including watercolor effects, transparent glazes, negative painting, textured and impasto effects with brushes and palette knife.
