Driving home yesterday, I heard Pierre Poilievre on AM radio lead his party right into QAnon territory. John Brassard’s Con party is now fear-mongering the far-right Great Reset conspiracy theory: Code for an alleged plot by a cabal of globalist elites to impose a new socialist order on the unwitting masses. The theory posits that the pandemic was deliberately let loose by those same elites looking for an excuse to carry out their nefarious plans. Poilievre isn’t just any Conservative. The MP for Carleton was a minister in the Harper government and now serves as Opposition critic for finance.
