Members of the Pembina Valley Fish Enhancement helped Manitoba Fisheries stock William Lake in the Turtle Mountains on Friday Sept 18th. 11,500 Brown Trout & 7,000 Rainbow Trout 12-15 cm in length were stocked. by Melissa Lindsay
Are you familiar with Eternal Springs located near Virden, these trout ponds were stocked with 500 rainbows & browns 12-15 cm in length in each pond on Friday Sept 18th. These ponds are spring fed making the water look gin clear! If your in the area go check them out, this is the first time these have been stocked since 2015. Beth Lundgren
On Friday group members had the privilege of helping Manitoba Fisheries stock Bower Lake. 10,000 Rainbow Trout & 5,000 Brown Trout 12-15 cm long were stocked. These fish came from the Whiteshell Hatchery @ West Hawk Lake. By Melissa Lindsay
Another 57 walleye fingerlings averaging 7 headed to Stephenfield Lake today. That makes a total 312 walleye that were transferred from the Burns McCoy - Mound Wildlife rearing pond by Manitoba Fisheries.
Another 95 Walleye Fingerling averaging 7 headed to Stephenfield today from the Mound Wildlife rearing pond, these walleye will be catchable in the winter. These are very healthy fish that will be hungry.
Some walleye fingerling went into Stephenfield Lake today! 2nd year that they have received fingerlings.
Mound Wildlife has started their fall fingerling transfer, some beautiful fish coming out this year!! Hopefully many more to come. #supportinglocallakes #walleyefingerling

Took in the AIS information session in Killarney this morning, learned a lot about the Aquatic Invasive Species in MB as well as how to properly clean, drain & dry your boat. Below are a couple examples of AIS found here in MB! Want something to do on Fathers Day weekend? Mound Wildlife is hosting a Walleye derby! Limited entries so support a great cause!
On Friday May 29th we had the opportunity to help the Healthy Lakes Committee, MIT as well other volunteers to help with a fish recovery at Pelican Lake. These fish were trapped in the ditch and 1119 combined fish between Northern Pike, Walleye, Bullhead, & Suckers were captured and returned back into Pelican lake using a live fish handling permit from MB Fisheries.

Do you think stocking efforts help? Here is some great proof, went to my local reservoir yesterday for a quick sunset fish in hopes to maybe catching one. Not only did I get one, I was able to catch 3 Walleye within 25 minutes of each other. These are thanks in part to the stocking from the Mound Wildlife Rearing pond! These were released back to grow bigger.
Please respect the work that has gone into making this happen!
Some new signs up at the Goudney Reservoir locates just outside of Pilot Mound, if you are lucky enough to catch a Walleye please take a quick picture and send it in to the Mound Wildlife group!
Rivers Lake was another stop on the walleye fry stocking tour. Friday they received 1.5 Million Walleye fry from the Swan Creek Hatchery in Lundar. This lake is very popular among anglers in southern MB.

Today Mary Jane Reservoir received 200,000 Walleye fry that came from the Swan Creek Hatchery outside of Lundar, MB. These fry are approximately 24 hours old! This was just one of the many lakes that was stocked in Southern MB today!!
Thanks to Dino Branfield & Morden Game Fish for helping MB Fisheries to release 200,000 Walleye Fry into Lake Minnewasta!
