I'll just put this here......future fall fair barbecue idea!

I just play with yarn. I am 72 and learned to knit when I was 8. I didn't knit for years until I had grandchildren. I like to create my own patterns and knit away. This is my English Cottage Garden that I knitted after seeing villages knitted by ladies in England.

2020 Fall Fair A Temporary Transformation At it’s core, the Fall Fair is about coming together as a community to celebrate what makes us strong. Traditionally, this has meant spending the better part of a week setting up, hosting, celebrating and then cleaning up after a big party for the community at the Community Hall. In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, and an uncertain timeline for physical distancing measures, that format doesn’t make sense this year. But that doesn’t m...ean that we can’t simply transform that spirit of celebration, strength and resilience into a new shape. That is why we would like to encourage all of the volunteers who have helped make the Fair happen every year where over 100 people contribute countless hours of effort to give the same or more time to helping the Pender Community be safe, fed, and cared for during this turbulent time. If anyone is looking for ways to help, we can provide an informal referral service through the network of relationships the Fair has developed over the years. The Fair will be back next year in a more traditional format and we will focus on a celebration of what we’ve done together as a community to not only weather current conditions, but actually grow our resilience and connections through it. This past summer at the museum, our students catalogued our collection of annual Pender Island Fall Fair brochures, dating back more than 50 years. With COVID-...19 cancelling the 2020 fall fair, we thought you'd enjoy some of the cover artwork from bygone times. The museum is open Saturdays, Sundays and holiday Mondays until Thanksgiving Day. Admission by donation.

Online Showtime Tomorrow! Hundreds of agricultural shows up and down the country have been forced to cancel but ‘The Greatest Agricultural show’ will go online... tomorrow (2 May) from 9am to 5pm at www.OnlineAgShow.co.uk and on social media. The show has chosen five rural welfare charities to support, including RSABI The show will feature all the favourites of livestock competitions, food and craft tents as well as a beer tent with live chat and entertainment. The main show ring will play host to displays including the RAF Red Arrows, The JCB Dancing Diggers and the now retired Vulcan Bomber, all streamed to the audience. The show is free to attend, and the weather is guaranteed to be perfect!
