Can the soil offset emissions from oil? Should carbon emissions be commodified and traded? We'll be answering those questions and more in our inaugural NFUnive...rsity class next Thursday, Dec 10! Joined by Dr. Doreen Stabinsky and Tamra Gilbertson, this free webinar will provide an understanding of emissions trading, carbon markets, offset protocols, and how to best structure programs and payments that incentivize farmers to adopt practices that build soils, and result in real emission reductions. Registration is free! Sign up and learn more at: http://ow.ly/r3B750CC5pR.

SERIAL INVENTOR HOOKS UP WITH STRONG WOOL The very successful self-labelled serial inventor, Logan Williams, originally from Timaru, strikes again. This tim...e he has set his sights on reviving New Zealand’s strong wool industry. He has invented a biodegradable material called Keravos which combines strong wool and polylactic acid (PLA) from corn-starch to make a viable alternative to plastic. Wool weighs less than PLA, so the more wool you use the better providing it is paying a fair price to farmers. So far, furniture, pots and crockery have been made using pellets of the Keravos product. Read more about it here: https://www.stuff.co.nz//serial-kiwi-inventor-banking-on-c See more
