Cancer is the leading cause of firefighter line of duty deaths (LODD). In Alberta there are 16 forms of cancer that are considered occupation related and therefore presumed to be caused by being a firefighter. January is firefighter cancer awareness month.

Rip Calgary Police Service We are able to release the name of our member who was killed while on duty late yesterday. Sgt. Andrew Harnett, 37, joined the Calgary Police Service 12 years ago. He will be forever missed.

On Thursday December 31 2020 just before 2pm Penhold Firefighters responded to a motor vehicle collision at Highways 42 and 2A. There were 2 vehicles involved blocking traffic with fluids leaking. Penhold Acting Fire Lieutenant Clayton Rafuse said there was 1 person who was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. RCMP are investigating.

Now this is a pretty good job of knowing how to be a pump operator.

Penhold Firefighters lower the flags and observe a minute of silence for Remembrance Day 2020 at the fire hall.

Last night Penhold Town Council and Mayor Mike Yargeau presented the Alberta Emergency Services Medal to Fire Lieutenant Warren Kitteringham and Firefighter/Inspector Mike Klitch. Congratulations to you both well earned!
