Part of what’s so exciting about our new life in Port Hope is participating in the many arts and cultural events put on here. There’s a long tradition of community involvement and supporting our local institutions including the Capitol Theatre which has been around for 90 years putting on plays and concerts for generations. This year I was asked to donate the decorations for a gorgeous pre-lit nine foot tree to raise funds for the theatre. The annual Festival of Lights and Tr...ees starts today at 1pm with social distancing protocols in place. You can come and see a whole forest of trees decorated for the holidays and if you like, try your hand at winning one to take home! My tree is decorated in a mix of nostalgic Christmas baubles in shades of green-blue, bronze and gold with a wide blue grosgrain ribbon topper and real oversized gingerbread cookie decorations!
