Well it’s official I’ve returned home to New Brunswick with my little family for the summer ! Well, as you may or may not have heard, there’s been quite conversation-storm brewing in my home town of Fredericton the last few days regarding public artworks within the community. I have so much that I would like to say on this subject, but first and foremost I want to say thank you for the overwhelming support of what myself, my business partner and sister Laura forrester @laurforr , and numerous other local artists have created in our beautiful downtown last year. Durin...g the summer of 2020 I individually & collaboratively painted 8 different murals for local businesses, each distinct in their own way to the clients ideas & vision. What most may not know, is that I also painted each of these murals that I am so incredibly proud of while pregnant. Well.... there’s been a reason I haven’t had the time share how I personally feel about all of this... at the same time that this whole conversation has erupted within Fredericton, I gave birth yesterday morning to the little boy who was with me for each creation. Let’s just say he already has a knack for grand entrances and perfect timing. While I focus on this creation of a different kind, I will keep my thoughts simple on what is going on... If there’s one thing I know from my time in Fredericton is that this community LOVES art and hungers for it in all forms & ways. Fredericton supports arts of all tastes and backgrounds. It is a diverse community that has supported an equally diverse community of artists at every level from hobbyist to professional and everything in between, and will continue to do so for years to come. This is what art is supposed to do for us: move you. start conversations that are both big & small, inspire others to share their thoughts, opinions, and passion.
