Hello Penticton Ukulele Group Well it is almost time for Winter to start its merry way into our lives once again and yes we are still at home with our Uke's keeping them warmed up and loved. As I am sure most of you are aware, the Penticton Senior Drop In Centre has been working towards a partial opening on October 13th, and we were approached by the PSDIC to determine our interest in returning on that date. ... Glenn, Ed and myself have been holding discussions with PSDIC, accessing the web sites for the BC Centre for Disease Control Event Guidelines, as well as having discussions with the Interior Health Authority to determine the feasibility of performing. We also went to the Great Hall, which is where we would have to play, and took measurements to calculate the floor space to determine maximum numbers allowed as per the government regulations. After all the relevant information was examined by Glenn, Ed and myself, we have come to the unanimous decision that our group will not be returning this year. We will be taking another look at how the Coronavirus situation is progressing in the New Year to see if we can start up then. This has been a tough decision to come to as we, like you, would love to be back playing again however the Health and Safety of our membership has been, and always will be, our uppermost thoughts when determining a future return date. Over the next couple of months I will attempt to bring forth a few new songs that you can practice with, along with the group Jim sent out some time ago. Be sure to keep looking at our Facebook page for news and information etc., and maybe try to get together with people within your own social bubble to play and sing with. Glenn Ed and I and on behalf of Jim and Sandi, would like to thank everyone for being a part of our Ukulele group over the years and can't wait until we can play and sing together again. Yours truly John Sutherland, Glenn Pociluyko, and Ed Coughman Happy Strum'n!
