The Government of Ontario mandates that volunteers receive Workplace Violence and Harassment, Human Rights and Accessibility training. Successful volunteers will be required to complete the training within a reasonable timeframe. The intent of the training is to inform PEO volunteers on their rights and responsibilities as volunteers, as well as their duties when working in a volunteer capacity, so that they may perform their work safely and in compliance with the law.

Last weekend PEO Kingston Chapter successfully hosted its very first popsicle bridge busting competition. Seven entries were received for the competition. The highest load recorded before failure on the winning bridge was 130 pounds. The second-place bridge sustained 120 pounds prior to failure. Trophies will be displayed at the winning competitor’s school for display until the 2021 Bridge Busting Competition. Special thanks to our devoted volunteers: Brian Surgenor and Brend...en MacKinnon without whom this event would not have been possible.
