Yummy chilli for my late night supper tonight! Ground up some locally grown chilli peppers I dehydrated last fall from @willowcreekfarms, then topped with avocado, lime juice, a dash of chipotle and locally made sheep's milk cheese Coco from @lighthallvineyards in PEC - the perfect melty, flavourful topper! Sooo good! Happy Friday Friends!!

Many kind thanks to my very talented friend Ralph of @ccdelightss for blessing me with this absolutely stunning work of culinary art tonight. This is a chocolate and raspberry cream cheese cake with the most delicious raspberry glaze, chocolate beads and hot sugar sculpture. I'm floored by how beautiful it is and it's soooooo delicious! I'm in heaven! Thank you for such a wonderful birthday gift! And for anyone else reading this you have to check out his Facebook and Instagram - he makes the most amazing food and is the kindest person you'll ever meet!

These two little cuties will be joining the farm on Friday! I can't wait! They are two KuneKune barrows and will make lovely pals for my KuneKune boar Tater! Now I have to think of names!!

Last stack of 2020 Grinch ornaments ready for hand painting! These are fun but time consuming to make! Very rewarding with the rich colour adhering so well to the wood slices! I'll have more hand painted ornaments ready for your 2021 Christmas season next year! Many thanks for the orders!!

Views from my porch... People ask me why my animals don't wander away when they're allowed to free-range... Haha - whelp - what they actually do is find out where the "food lady" lives and make efforts to hang out there in hopes that she makes an appearance with snacks... Really it's all about snacks. Everything is about snacks...

Some pics from today... My parents came to help me get Marvs kennel finished and we got rid of the mattress in the spare bedroom, so now I have an exercise/zoom meeting room! Nice to turn that into usable space as I so rarely have overnight guests. My elliptical might actually get some use now that it's not collecting dust in the garage too! My goal for this year is to declutter the house (simplify) to care for myself and my health and start getting back in shape... I'm not trying to rush it though - stress is not helpful anyways - it'll take a while! Gotta turn the potato-bod into ...less of a potato??! One step at a time!

Yummy KuneKune x large Black pork raised by yours truly... Rich and tasty! Cooks in its own fat so no need to add any to your pan! Simple and Delicious!!

No filter - just a pasture-raised KuneKune x Large Black shoulder chop seasoned with just a little salt & pepper. The flavour of the meat is rich and more like steak than a grocery store chop and full of healthy omega 3's! Yummy! My next batch to the butcher will be February and March 2021. Stay tuned and get some of this goodness for yourself!

Nothing like a bowl of homemade soup at midnight while watching zombie movies! Lol! I didn't crack an egg in it - but it's so yummy anyways... and I'm a sucker for a good zombie flick!

Tons of root veggies, herbs, shredded chicken and kale... the soup just kind of morphed into this... For some reason I wanna crack a raw egg in it when I finally get to have a bowl! Kind of egg drop soup style! Anyways... it's sooo yummy! I'll freeze a bunch and be happily living off this for awhile! Time to bake some bread to go with it!!

This turkey/chicken stock has been simmering on my stove all week now and I'm finally making it into soup! I often will simmer my stock for a few days depending on how busy I get. It only gets richer and deeper in flavour - or at least that's what I find. It's not clear - I could strain it more for sure - but I don't mind it this way! I'm only a home cook so it's good enough for me! This is the fun part (and tasty part) chopping up the veggies and seeing it all come together! Perfect for fall!

Hey Friends!! Our last egg pickup day here at the farm will be October 29. Egg sales will come to a close for the season and we will look forward to seeing you again in the Spring! Many heartfelt thanks to all of our customers for your loyalty, friendship and for supporting our small egg endeavour! We were able to support families in need due to the Covid crisis with farm-fresh eggs, as well as pay for our chicken feed! I'm sure the chickies will miss your weekly visits! Don'...t be a stranger! If you want to come use the property to snowshoe, do some skiing or just to come say hi, let me know! Nothing like a winter campfire and hike! Also maple season will be here before we know it!! What a cool memory! I had to share these photos... This time last year I was almost finished with the renovation to create Studio on the Farm! My on-farm art studio where I teach art and craft classes of all kinds! What a rewarding start and then crazy end to my first year! Haha! From in-studio to online classes! It's been an adventure that's for sure and we're still going!
