Are your New Year’s resolutions still on track? More specifically, are you hitting the gym as often as you said you would? We are almost two full months into 2019 (hard to believe) and about 40-50% of us are already starting to falter on this resolution. Don’t feel like you’re alone! A lot of times we try to do too much and set ourselves up for failure. Going from zero to hero may work for some people, just the same as quitting smoking cold turkey does, but the reality is ...it doesn’t work for most of us. In the beginning, two to three days per week may be all our body or schedule can handle but once we master this we can try to step it up a notch to four or five days per week. At Perfect Kinetics, we get that pledging to exercise is a big commitment. Having a support system increases our chances of success because we all need a little help sometimes. Make Time For You! One of the biggest reasons why we can't stick to a program is we don't truly commit our time and therefore set ourselves up to fail We are all busy. From the hustle and bustle of our jobs, kids’ activities, social commitments etc. there never seems to be enough hours in the run of the day. The reality is, it's not going to change. Every week you get 168 hours; no more no less, so you need to plan and schedule your week to be successful.... Haphazardly saying you will find time to exercise doesn’t work. When left to our own devices how many of us find the time to learn that guitar sitting in the corner collecting dust or that treadmill in our basement being used as a drying rack? Who would have found the time to learn their school material if there wasn't weekly class appointments or monthly tests? Very few of us would have. Therefore, we need to schedule our workouts and make appointments. Just like our kids’ activities or our work schedule, we need to know at the beginning of the week when we are going to exercise. Otherwise the end of the week will roll around and you won’t have done a single workout and you’ll be left wondering where the time went.
