The Miller Family has had a GoFundMe Page set up . They are fortunate enough to incur the possible costs for Morgan's recovery. What the family would like to do though is raise money for Stars Air Ambulance. They were paramount with saving Morgan's life. An extremely needed program that saves lives in this province. I have a few fellow nurses who work with Stars Air Ambulance and can personally attest to these ppl compassion and abilities during a crisis Any funds raised will go directly to their Foundation. Anything donated is extremely appreciated and goes to a great cause. Thank you in Advance

Good morning everyone, reading the posts from Brendan and Lorelie Miller on Morgan's improvements are so good to hear. Truly a relief to see so many positive things with Morgan. Given the situation with the incident I can honestly say we are witnessing a miracle. Trust me I have run into enough animals on the highway myself to know this is. I want to really thank the great staff at Royal University Hospital's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The Doctor's, Nurses and support ...staff are doing a great job.... We are very lucky to live in a place that we have access to the highest calibre medically trained staff in the world. Also thank you to everyone for reaching out with positive thoughts, prayers , well wishes for the Miller Family. It is extremely humbling to witness ppl coming together for a family most do not even know. A testament to how Hockey families truly are Have a great day everyone and Great Job Morgan. Its a long road of recovery but certainly looking like the best outcome is very possible.

I saw a post from a friend so I decided to use it too. Ppl who do not know what hockey means to a lot of families around Western Canada. I personally have meet lifelong friends through hockey. I love the weekends at tournaments. The music, atmosphere and excitement. I have watched my sons play on good teams , bad teams but they loved every minute along the way. I see the rivalries and banter and think us parents are prob more rivals than our kids playing lol. But I wouldn'...t change it for anything in the world. The endless bottles of antacids from eating rink food or not feeling so well from the "parent meetings " haha. Then you watch your son or daughter progress over the year's and regardless where hockey goes for them You still have that sense of pride given them these life experiences and helping build a good person who understands hard work, accountability matter to their teams. Then seeing them have fun and learning to love the sport is beyond priceless. I have been very fortunate to have worked with some elite players. Honestly the best asset they all have is that love/passion for the game. That is the hardest and most dangerous opponent. Playing a player who loves what they do is a nightmare for players who don't. Bottom line is have fun first. The life experiences from hockey are so important to help families mold good future generations of Police, Firefighters, Nurse, Doctors, etc. I look at these pictures and it warms my heart to see the happiness in these kids. Seeing Marc pumped to be with Matt at a ballgame, Or Sam excited about catching a 10lb Jack bragging about it lol. Seeing Dayne laughing with his linemate . Or Addisen being goofy giggling with her brothers on a Sat night at the ODR... Then I see the outpouring of support for the Miller family during their time of need.. So many reasons why I have passion for the game that has nothing to do with wins or losses. Trust me I am competitive lol. But the life experiences run deep. The best part of the sport is realizing family is so much more than blood..

It's great to see Brendan being able to keep us updated. We chatted for a bit this afternoon and he said being there it feels like a "rollercoaster " throughout the day. I told him in that environment that is normal. This will be a long journey and healing is needed. I cannot reiterate enough how it helps Brendan and Lorelie hearing from family, friends. Even if you do not know them but are a hockey parent . I am sure some kind words are very welcome. As we know with the ...Covid protocols they are essentially alone at RUH in Stoon. They aren't ppl who are sick often so to go from being an active family running in different directions like all of us hockey families have to do. To this situation. It is shocking to say the least. When we talked about prayers today I brought up my feelings. Ppl think science disproved God....I think religion/science are a lot closer then we realize. It seems so easy to believe in evil . Just look at the news. Look at horror/scary movies these days. Look at how awful ppl can be to one another. Evil always seems obvious doesn't it? On the flipside God lets everyone have free will. He is there when a stranger smiles out of kindness. His presence there in a kind word or gesture. His presence was there in that beautiful sunset last night. His presence is there with the ppl who choose these paths to become Dr's, Nurse's, etc. That path is a calling and it takes Angels to want to help ppl who are facing these situations. If you keep your eyes open enough it can be seen. i apologize as I am not trying to promote any religious beliefs. I am just stating that God doesn't make things obvious. We have free will and choices . I can tell you the power of prayers and positive thoughts helped Morgan so far. They have helped the family immensely even cope with this. Keep fighting Morgan . Your doing great.
