Microsoft account unusual sign-in activity is an email letter which informs about a suspicious sing-in to the Outlook account. In most cases, such emails are legitimate and useful to protect you from hackers. However, cybercriminals invented a phishing technique to trick novice users into giving their credentials they sent fake letter that look extremely similar to the legitimate ones.

It's tax time once again and the scammers are out in full force. Taxpayers should be vigilant when they receive, either by telephone, mail, text message or email, a fraudulent communication that claims to be from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requesting personal information such as a social insurance number, credit card number, bank account number, or passport number.

Your phone rings once or twice before the call is disconnected. The number that appears in your wireless phone log as a missed call appears to be a U.S area code, but is actually a three-digit international area code. If you return the call you will be connected to a phone number outside the United States, often in Canada or the Caribbean, and charged expensive international call rates.

A new email virus with a Random Name and FedEx in the subject is making the rounds. This email is designed to install Ransomware on your computer. The Ransomware will potentially encrypt all your used data and request a large sum of money to decrypt it. In most cases, paying the ransom will not get your files back. The scammer will simply take your money and do nothing. If you were tricked into clicking this message, please shut down your computer immediately. Do not turn it back on until you can have a professional deal with it. They will need to remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer to attempt to recover data and remove the virus before it can encrypt any more data.

An email claiming to be from Shaw asks for more info to complete your account profile. If you click on the link, the scammers ask for personal info as well as your Shaw email address and password. This email is designed to steal your Shaw email account in order to use it to send spam messages. It is also designed to steal whatever personal info you enter in. If you were tricked into clicking this message, please contact Shaw immediately. You will have to ask them to reset your email password in order to prevent the scammers from sending spam from your email. If you entered personal info, you will have to keep a very close eye on your banking and credit cards for any strange entries.

A nasty virus from last year has reared its ugly head again. The virus comes as a Microsoft Word doc email attachment. The email will come from someone you know. The name of the doc will end with "_request.doc" and the message will appear to be a reply to your most recent email you sent to that person. If you accidentally open this attachment, it will only show a blue screen with the Word logo and will ask you to disable protected view or allow editing or allow macros to run. DO NOT DO THIS. It will infect your computer with a virus that will spread by email to everyone in your contact list. Variants of this virus may also collect passwords or encrypt all your data. This is a NASTY one.

A customer just got an email claiming that their PC had been infected and had recorded them on webcam. The email claimed that they would send the video to everyone in their contact list if a ransom was not paid. This is a scam! Please do not be tricked. https://zurl.co/Q8yn4
