It’s fall- what shall you wear today? If you’re anything like me, I’m find I’m adding a layer, taking off a layer, putting back on a layer, and repeating! This might be my favourite combination- the heathered blue scuba hoodie with the blue and grey baseball tee. Other combos I love are the heathered grey hoodie with the heathered grey/light grey baseball tee and the heathered black hoodie with the camo/light grey baseball tee.... I bet we’ll still need to start the day with a cozy sweatshirt, even though the afternoon high this week may reach 28 degrees this here in Maple Ridge, BC. What’s your favourite combination? It’s hard to believe that eight years ago, with my hospital bag in tow, I headed off to the island alone for our first day as owners of salon #1. Thank goodness baby waited ten days to make her exceptionally exciting entrance into this world! What were we thinking?!?! In hindsight, how did I do it? A one year old, a newborn, and an out of town business? My goodness! It’s amazing what you can do with a little courage, a little crazy, and a whole lot of desire.... I knew that I wanted to create something for myself where I felt I could use my brain, continue to have adult interactions, AND be able to be home with my young family. I was confident that I had a very good grasp on the business, as I had been the Business/Operations Specialist for years prior. I better be able to handle it after that. Eight years later, we operate eight salons and here we are- right smack dab in the middle of a pandemic. What a year it has been! For those of you who didn’t know, my goal has always been to have forty salons with my business partner. Covid- you may have slowed us down, but you won’t stop us.
