So the Hyundai Tucson got a redesign for 2022 and it’s different. In photos I wasn’t sold on it, but in person I find I like it a lot more than my initial reaction. Here in Canada the top-two trims come as a hybrid only, which includes this Ultimate. What do you think about the design?

This 2016 Porsche Cayenne costs about the same as a new midsize sedan, but you get to drive around in a Porsche. At 82,000km there’s zero issues with this SUV, every button works, every piece of trim is where it belongs. There’s a reason why Porsche tops the yearly reliability surveys, and now I can believe it.

I’m digging the UPS brown on this Porsche Cayenne. Haven’t driven one of these in a very long time.

A diesel Jaguar. Probably in Europe this sounds perfectly normal, but here in Canada I’ll admit it was a bit of a surprise. If you think a diesel can only be slow and smelly then you need to check out this one! This is a truly sport-oriented diesel sedan that’s fun to drive and a steal in the used market. Last week I had the chance to drive the new 2021 Mazda3 GT with their 2.5L Turbocharged engine up into the twisty roads of Val-David, Saint-Jérome, and Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs. Mazda Canada is targeting the premium segment with this car, taking on vehicles like the Acura ILX, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, and Audi A3 in terms of price, but offering way more features and a better driving experience than those entry models. The cold weather is killing my range with this BMW X3 xDrive30e. I’m lucky to get home from picking my daughter up with 50% charge, and we only live 3 minutes from the school. It’s about 30 minutes total of driving and waiting with the heat on. I’d be curious to see how the range is in summer.

The last BMW X3 I drove was the X3 M Competition, I’m now on the complete opposite end of their engine range with this xDrive30e plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.

Kia Canada Seltos or Chevrolet Trailblazer, which would you take and why? Our 2021 Kia Seltos SX Turbo comes very well equipped for $32,845 CAD and offers ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, and a colour HUD.
