Experience: Applicants with a minimum 3 years experience in construction management will be considered.... Education: Architectural or Civil Engineering diploma. Required Skills: - Fluent English communications skills. French language is an asset. - Prepare proposals, estimates using Microsoft Office Word and Excel. - Read and interpret construction drawings - Review shop drawings - Materials take-offs and ordering. - Problem solving and organization - Ability to perform site inspections and reporting Additional skills that would be an asset: - Preparation of sketches and drawings - Ability to produce drawings using AutoCAD 2D software - Experience with Blubeam Revu for PDF files collaboration

POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking an experienced construction site supervisor to oversee overall construction management for commercial and industrial construction projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:... Demonstrate leadership and coordinate all on-site activities. Ensure that project is completed according to plans, specifications, shop drawings, and building codes. Inspect quality of work and ensure that it meets high-quality standards. Review and maintain the construction schedule with project manager and project team. Coordinate project flow with project manager. Supervise company employees, and ensure that timesheets are properly completed. Ensure that safety standards are maintained on the project. Maintain a daily work log to track on-site activities and document any pertinent information. Take, and submit to office, daily photos to track key construction activities. Hold meetings with field personnel, project team, and trade contractors; attend meetings with project team, owner and consultants. Sign for all materials and equipment received on site and remit documentation to office. Coordinate site inspections with city inspectors, testing companies, and consultants KEY QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 3 years of construction supervisor / foreman experience on commercial / industrial projects. Strong understanding of construction documents (plans, details, specifications, etc.) Good knowledge of health & safety standards. Strong understanding of construction practices, techniques, and site coordination. Ability to maintain project quality, schedule and budget. Ability to communicate clearly with all project members (trade contractors, consultants, etc.) Ability to identify constructability issues and advise the project manager. Ability to multi-task. Strong organizational skills are essential. Knowledge of various construction disciplines, the ability to evaluate the quality of workmanship of the trade contractor, identify any construction issues, and initiate any corrective measures if deemed necessary. Good leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective relationships and team environment. Maintain valid Ontario (G) driver’s license and ability to travel as required. Computer proficiency is an asset. Good understanding of the English language, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate in French is not required but it is an asset.
