We are so lucky to have the many contributions from the Rotary at PERS! All the best of the season to each of the Rotarians. Thank you again and here’s to a healthy and happy 2021!
Friday was such a glorious day at our school. Thanks to a grant from the Indigo community fund, every student in our school was gifted with books to take home and to keep forever! The kids were so excited, surprised and very appreciative of this; as well the teachers were beaming with pride as they watched the kids receive their books!! HALLOWEEN Hello Mariner Families: Just a quick call about Halloween at Port Elgin Regional. All homeroom teachers have agreed that students may wear their costumes to school on Thursday. Costumes displaying blood or gore are not acceptable. Please make sure the costume will allow seamless learning. This means the costume should not be too big to fit within the desk space, that the costume doesn't interfere with a student's writing or other classroom related work. Commun...ity Face Masks (covid) still need to be worn on the bus and when outside of the classroom bubble. Please keep this in mind when costume planning. Maybe face painting rather than a mask would work better for this day. Also, please note outside bake goods/food items are not permitted this year. Sorry but if any arrive at the school they will not be distributed. This is to ensure everyone’s safety due to Covid. The plan is for all students to receive a Halloween treat bag from the Tantramar Covid Task Force that has been packaged in compliance with provincial Covid handling methods! Our thanks to those organizers for this kind gesture. We are doing this Halloween celebration on Thursday as there is no school on Friday, October 30th. Thank you and have a good evening. See more

Some of the Mariner staff can be seen here modeling their new PERS shirts! We can’t wait until September 30 to show our support for Orange Shirt Day! Have a healthy and happy weekend, Mariners! See you bright and early on Monday!

FYI Mariners and Mariner families: The grade 6-8 Tech fee of $10.00 being collected and parents can send in payment or cash-online is set up to receive as well. Also, some parents are trying to use SafeArrival/School Messenger but don’t see their child’s name on the drop down list. District has advised that parents go to the district website, under the Parents tab, select SafeArrival and there are instructions their to synchronize contact information. This should solve the problem.
