Muscle damage is probably not caused by mechanical tension tearing sarcomeres. If it were, then we would always see that damage occurring immediately after a wo...rkout. In fact, the damage is only obvious after a couple of days. It is much more plausible that muscle damage is caused by biochemical effects, which take several days to produce the changes (and some of these changes may actually be structural cytoskeletal adaptations rather than damage). I don’t have a problem with online training. It’s a new world and people want alternatives to being around people. But a good coach needs to be there and present in training. They catch breakdowns in form and signs of fatigue that can lead to injury. This can easily be done from two meters away while wearing a mask. You are sacrificing care when you bring your personal training business online. Period. Now here’s these two famous coaches telling us about how obvious it is... that online training is going to be huge and here’s the thing you should buy(curious how they both chose the exact same wording). Hey, I have clients that want to train remotely from home on facetime. They are people who have done enough skill acquisition with me that I don’t feel bad doing it. There are exceptions. But the fact is that it’s way easier to stay at home and offer half assed training tips or a bunch of bullshit exercises in a preposterous order than to actually put thought into personalizing a program for an athlete and making them feel unique. But some trainers are only concerned with the bottom line. Maybe if you’re only in this business for you, you shouldn’t be a coach. See more
