A wonderful reminder that just because someone has dementia doesn't mean that they don't still see the beauty in the world around them and continue to have an identity, sometimes they just need a bit of help from those around them to uphold that identity.

Today is World Alzheimer's Day. A day we at Person Centred Universe reflect on each year and review the postive change and momentum that the past calendar year has brung for those living with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias and their care partners. This year is no different, and yet, when we reflect back, and see how the Covid-19 pandemic has isolated so many of us, it is a reminder that we can do better. We can advocate for person centred care for our loved ones l...iving within care to maintain and uphold the beautiful identities of the ones we love. That we have access to services and supports that not only provide physical care, but provide social and emotional support as well. Today we stand for those living with Alzheimer's Disease across the world to live free of stigma, a world that maintains autonomy and supports the well being of the incredible people we know and love who are diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease every day.
