Perth and District Little League 31.01.2021

Perth & District Little League Notice: July 6th, 2020 Baseball Skills Program! To the parents of our little league ball players, we appreciate your patience through out this difficult time. The Perth and District Little League board of directors have been monitoring closely the various government and league decisions that would determine a ball season or not. Due to the current safety regulations on numbers and distancing, it is not feasible for even a shorter regular season.... However, all may not be lost for this year. We are planning an information day on Saturday July 18th at Conlon Farm from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This will give us an opportunity to refund your registration fees and inform you of an ON-FIELD " baseball skills " program we are planning for this summer that will meet current numbers and distancing safety regulations. This program will be under the guidance of Evan Tryon and his "player development" program. We are also planning a girls softball league for next summer. For the parents who are unable to make the July 18th session, please contact us through our website so that other arrangements can be made for your registration refunds. As a side note for this summer, Hartington Farm Equipment Ltd has come on board as a Perth and District Little League corporate sponsor and along with the Town of Perth, improvements will be made to Conlon ball fields that will keep it one of the premier facilities in Ontario, if not in Canada. On behalf of the Perth and District Little League board, enjoy your summer and stay safe. Jim Graff President, PDLL

First of all, the board really appreciates everyone's patience as we figure out what's possible, what's happening, and how to make the best of it all. We had a short meeting to organize something for the baseball kids to keep their interest. If the current lockdown date of July 15 is lifted for little league, Evan Tryon and some of our regular coaches would like to have a one day per week "Baseball Drills" session at Conlon Farm from 5:30 until 8:00 pm... day of the week to ...be determined. If the current Provincial and Municipal requirements for numbers and distancing hold after July 15th, we could accommodate 58 players with coaches considering the number of ball fields at Conlon Farm. These sessions would hopefully continue for the balance of the summer in place of our normal summer schedule. We are also looking for a convenient way to return the registration fees to parents. We will do our best to return this money as soon as possible and would ask parents to contact Evan Tryon at 613-200-1676 or [email protected] or Jim Graff at [email protected] for further information. Thank you again for your patience as we struggle with the reality of what's going on.

The Perth and District Little League Board is still waiting for further direction from Little League Canada on June 15th as to whether or not there will be a Little League season this year. Of course, this decision will be in concert with decisions by our municipal, provincial, and federal governments. As soon as we know more, we will post the information we have here.... We are hopeful that some form of baseball can be conducted this year, but if not, then registration fees will be returned to those who have already registered. On behalf of the board, stay safe, stay positive and we look forward to brighter days ahead.
