Due to recent announcements regarding a pending lockdown our team have decided to cease production. Our artisan chocolate and chocolate confection stock is currently at a high level for the days leading up to Christmas. Going into the days leading up to Christmas we will be opening up earlier to give everyone a little extra time for their last minute shopping. We will be closed Christmas Day until December 28th and will reopen December 29th to New Year’s Eve to let you stock up on your favourite treats before we close for ten days in January. We kicked off Wandering Wednesdays 2.0 by sipping on hot chocolate, watching the leaves change in the park and remembering a National icon. At the Wilson Street entrance to Stewart Park, just feet from our storefront, you can find the Big Ben Memorial Statue. The beautiful bronze statue commemorates of one of the greatest horse-rider partnerships in sports history. It was built in honour of Olympic equestrian, Ian Millar, who resides just outside of our quaint town, and the championed Big Ben, a horse who won all of our hearts. Labour Day, the first Monday in September, has been a holiday in Canada since 1894. Historically, workers marked the day with all kinds of celebrations. The holiday was to help build working-class identity in a time of rapid industrialization, it allowed time for rest and socialization outside of the workplace. So, since we love to keep with tradition here at Perth Chocolate Works, we will be closing this Labour Day Monday and giving our team the day off. Thank you so much to our staff and our customers for such a wonderful Summer season, we cannot wait to see what the Fall brings
