Peterborough's Family Health Forum 23.05.2021

MEET JULIA PEART, REGISTERED NURSE. We are so excited to have her on our panel for the Family Health Forum on Tuesday! Julia is a Registered Nurse with experience in improving the lives of individuals across their lifespan; whether healthy or having complex health needs. She has mostly worked in the community and primary care sectors providing counselling and keeping people out of hospital. Currently, she runs a business that offers counselling and free health information online/in person at www.pearthealth.com. She is excitedly working at her Masters Degree to become a Nurse Practitioner and is scheduled to graduate May 2016!

MEET KIM PAYNE, PELVIC FLOOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST! Come and listen to how she could help you with your pelvic floor health after having a baby. Kim graduated from Queen’s University in 1997 with degrees in biology and physical and health education. She did post graduate work at the University of Western Ontario and finished her degree in Physical Therapy in 2002. Kim went on to pursue a specialty in pelvic health through the American Physiotherapy Association in Florida. Kim h...as worked with the Lead the Way group for 13 years. Kim has a special interest in women’s health and was the originator of the SHE (Stronger. Healthier. Everyday.) program. Kim is the only physiotherapist in the region who has specialized internal pelvic floor training for the treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain. She is also specially trained to treat our pregnant population for pelvic/back pain and post-partum rehabilitation. Kim also has first- hand experience at pregnancy and post-partum and is the mother of two boys. Luke is 6 and Owen is 9. Kim spends most of her working time at Lakefield Physiotherapy and Foot Health Clinic in the Morton Community Healthcare Centre. In her off time, Kim enjoys running, mountain biking and adventure racing. See more
