Right now, in America, unemployment is over 20% and the rest of the world is dealing with record unemployment too. Maybe you lost your job, or maybe you still have one, either way you need to understand how this affects you and how to protect yourself. When unemployment is high, there are few jobs and a lot of people wanting them. This is good for entrepreneurs because now they can get an amazing employee at a reduced price, but not good for employees and wanna-be-employees. This also means salaries will freeze. No reason to pay employees more when the business can go out and get a better employee even cheaper. Again, not good for employees. But with all the FAKE money being printed out of thin air, inflation will begin to rise. Now, businesses can sell their services and products for more money while their costs go down because they can pay their employees less. So now employees are making less but their personal expenses will rise. It gets even worse The government just paid record unemployment benefits as well as stimulus checks and printed a bunch of FAKE money. Who has to pay all that massive debt? YOU, the taxpayer. Your salary and benefits will freeze or shrink, the cost of goods and services will rise AND your taxes are going to get raised substantially. So how do you protect yourself? If you reread what I wrote above, then you realize the only one winning is the business owner. He/she can get the best employees for dirt cheap. He/she can start to charge more for their products and services AND business owners get massive, incredible tax breaks! Entrepreneurs win! So I think it is clear. You need to become an entrepreneur. Happy to announce that I am now a member of Advocis - The Financial Advisors’ Association of Canada. I’ll start the two year program to obtain the designation of Professional Financial Advisor in April. Driving back from the Fidelity Investments event in Toronto I heard the story of someone looking a a bright green fishing lure. "Do fish really like these?" the customer asked. "Don't know" the store owner responded "I'm not selling them to fish."... It's an old sales story that speaks only to making the sale and not caring about the end result. To me this is short-sighted and honestly illustrates why I joined Primerica. I do care about results. My business depends on giving excellent support to all of my clients.
