Kelly was pretty happy to see mom today! Team Kelly
Here is Kelly‘s last recall of the day and he even gets distracted but then redirects back to me and gets to the finish line. Team Kelly
4 month old Kelly experienced Lowe’s today. There was a lot going on including several dogs, lots of noises and it was a very windy day on top of that! I could not be prouder of the progress this young boy has made in only one week. Team Kelly
Rocky Kelly Atlas practicing Place command together.
Waking up with Kelly, a view of his morning in his BnT this week...Team Kelly
End of day 11 - Awesome day for Team Sookie !
Happy Friday Everyone
Morning of Day 9...Sookie is finally showing me she understands the word Heel without position boards or targets. Hallelujah We still have a ways to go but, hopefully, you can see the advantage of working stationary Heel position before movement can really help to clarify to your dog what you are looking for before you begin walking your dog where there will be distractions. This makes the transition much easier when you start venturing out in your neighborhood. Team Sookie
Expanding Levis Place work today at the park.
Meet 10 month old Levi, he has been with me for about a week now and he is part of my board and train program. Team Levi
Sookie in the hood Adding environmental distractions, change of pace & direction and almost no guidance on the long line to stay in Heel position.
I added a couple of challenges to Doolas recall, he nailed it! WAHOO
Fun little session with Doola this afternoon. Conditioning him to Come to a whistle. Getting a little Place and Heel command in as well. Team Doola
Beginning Day 8...Functional treadmill work in Heel position. Team Sookie
Working out this morning with Doola on his puppy push-ups... in the background I have two dogs on treadmills. Good start to the day with a little warm-up
Day 7...Sookie tends to bark at noises & unfamiliar things, so I took advantage of trash day to see how she’d do. I’ve been working on her barking all week and building her self-confidence through training exercises. Take a look and see how she does - Team Sookie
Doolas 4th time on the treadmill. Starting to advance his walking at Heel skills to prepare us for taking it to the streets. Clarity is of the upmost importance when training your dogs. Working in small steps of approximations with little to no distractions in the beginning helps to clarify what you are looking for before you add distractions and you only do this as the skill gets stronger. Team Doola
Doolas 3rd time on the treadmill. Im using it to begin to teach him how to walk in heel position on a loose leash. Team Doola
I told the pups to Sit and they all social distanced on their own, LOL! Team Sookie Hazel & Rocky. #upk9sd #socialdistancing #miniatureschnauzer #huskylove #labradorretriever #
Doolas 2nd time on the treadmill. Levi, 10 month old Golden Retriever and my other Board & Train, is closely looking on and being very supportive. He only learned the treadmill two days ago and is ready to give pointers if needed
Doolas intro to the treadmill, this is his first time on it. He is ROCKIN it
Miss Piggy tells good jokes Team Sookie #upk9sd #miniatureschnauzer #cutenessoverload #boardandtrain #cutepuppy
Building Doolas self confidence, today Im using some FitPaws equipment. Team Doola WAHOO!
End of Day 6 for Team Sookie
10 month old Wren is a private client who came to me a few weeks ago pulling like a banshee and bolting out the front door Her person had knee replacement surgery right before we met for the first time. Team Wren has made such great progress and it shows! Her person is now able to walk her without fear of Wren’s leash reactivity because she now knows what to do and how to prevent it. We still have a couple of more lessons to do but I couldn’t be prouder of this team
Doolas first lesson on Come into Heel and go to Place. Team Doola
Day 6...Team Sookie
Meet 4 mo old Bandoola, my Board & Train. Rocky loves puppies! Doola, as he is affectionately called, is a miniature schnauzer and he is here for some potty training and learning basic puppy obedience and general husbandry skills
Hiking with the boys today at Batiquitos Lagoon Whisky & Leon #upk9sd #doberman #pitbull #
End of Day 5...More Heel fundamentals, less help today. Team Sookie
Working Leon at Oceanside Harbor this evening on his leash reactivity towards unruly dogs. Hes good with dogs that are behaved but needs more practice ignoring snarky dogs on leash. Unfortunately, he lives in a neighborhood where well behaved dogs are rare So we are going to be going on A LOT of walks in the next few days!!
Out for a walk with Leon. He was a BnT this past Spring and his people are celebrating a special anniversary so I get to have him for a few days # #pitbull #upk9sd
Afternoon snooze # Whisky & Leon #doberman #pitbull #upk9sd
WAHOO! Congratulations Team Laika They are my newest graduates of my Ultimate Obedience program. This team has come so far since the start of training. Laika is barely 7 months old and already had a bad experience with another training company prior to finding me. She is a German Shepherd with a fearful temperament and needs to have her self confidence built up with positivity and through learning to trust her people. This takes time and dedication. She has the BEST owners ...she could ask for and because of them she is beginning to thrive instead of just survive and has a fulfilling life ahead of her. There are five temperaments of dogs: Fearful, Submissive, Happy-go-lucky, Dominant & Aggressive. Of course there are combinations of these but there is generally one that is more predominant. It is important to "know the dog in front of you" so you can provide your dog with the most appropriate training and clarity of communication possible in order to reach your dogs potential. Call for a free consultation & assessment at 760-518-5518 and let me see how I can help you have the best life with your dog
Lk at 3 yr. old Sam the Havanese! He just finished a 10 day board & train with me. He went through a BnT program when he was a puppy from a well known company ...(which shall remain nameless) but they never followed up to show his owner what they did so Sam just kept up with all of his old habits +plus added new ones! barking at the tv barking at the doorbell/knock leash reactivity pulling on leash not coming when called jumping on people My programs are designed with the owner in mind and Im not satisfied until I have thoroughly trained the owner/s how to live in harmony with their dog/s. After-all, isnt that the point of have a canine companion and why you would hire me?! I include several follow-up lessons in my BnT to make sure you are happy and I have accomplished the goals we set prior to the start of training. I keep in touch with you and send you lots of videos and photos while your dog is with me. If you are interested in a free consultation, its easy!! Call me at 760-518-5518. I will design a package for you and your dog that works

BEFORE & AFTER! Cooper goes home today so I wanted to release this beautiful before & after of his feet!! CAN WE SAY HOLY SMOKES?! ... Taking care of a dogs nails is important because it contributes to their overall health. Nails that are chronically too long contribute to splaying of toes, inappropriate stance, inhibition of proper movement, and joint damage. Just remember: IF YOU CAN HEAR THEM CLICK, THEY NEED A CLIP! You shouldnt hear your dogs nails click on the floor when they walk! Lets talk specifically about the changes in Coopers foot after 28 days of working to get his quirks to recede. GREEN LINES: Look at the angle from the pad of his foot to the tip of his nails. This line is much more obtuse in the Day 1 picture. Ideally, you should be able to continue the curve of a dogs pad upward and just touch the tip of the nail, closer to how they are in the Day 28 picture. His quicks need to recede about 2mm more to be juuuuust right. :) PURPLE LINES: These lines show the curvature of Coopers toes when standing naturally. When he first name to me, his nails were so long his toes were flattened outhe didnt have the ability to nicely roll his foot over while walking because it hit the nail, which is painful. This cause him to walk very flat-footed and heavy. Now if you look at the Day 28 picture you can see that his toes have curled back up into a nice, rounded, more cat-like posture. He can now take a springy step forward with a nice, roll over the front of his foot. BLUE LINES: These lines are what make me the most proud and happy for Cooper. In his initial picture, look at the angle his leg was standinghe was leaving so far back as if he was walking uphill! This puts additional, constant pressure on his hips and knees, which is definitely an area we want to protect as much as possible in a breed prone to hip displaysia and other joint issues. Compare that blue line to the Day 28 line where he is now able to stand almost completely up! His body adjusted to the shorter nails and he was able to shift his weight back forward, relieving the pressure in his back end and allowing him to stand tall and proud, just like a GSD should. Drop any questions you have below!! Stay tuned for Coopers overall body shape before & after tomorrow!!! Lauren Turner Ideal Dog Owner/Trainer www.idealdogservices.com

Adpot Me Hi! My name is Baxter, a 15 mos old Belgian Malinois mix and I weigh ~50 lbs. I am smart, sweet and have energy to make a great hiking buddy. I am neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations. I was attacked at my foster home prior to being adopted and I have come a long way in the last six months with professional training but I still have some trauma that I am working through. My new family now has a baby on the way & my amazing trainer, Mary Ka...y, is willing to continue working with my new people to help further my development and education. I can be a little apprehensive with new people but I will snuggle and love you forever once trust is established. I have some great dog friends that I love to play with, I walk nicely on a loose leash and I know my basic commands (Place, Come, Sit, Look, Down, Stand, Off, Drop it, Quiet, Kennel, Wait). I am also ecollar conditioned. Told you I am smart ! If you are interested in meeting me, put my name in the subject line Baxter & send an email to: [email protected] Please share this post for me so I can find my new forever home. Thank you, Love Baxter
Lk at little Max go! Hard at work today learning Come into Heel. Check out his focus! WAHOO
