#clientlove #mywhy I am so thankful we contacted Ashley. For almost a year our family struggled with entirely napless days, followed by sleepless night, after sleepless night. We were in a cycle we couldn’t manage to change with a completely exhausted, overtired baby girl. We experienced little to no success with numerous attempts at sleep training, paediatrician visits, changes to routine, and desperate evening car rides and had started to resign ourselves to the fact that ...we had a child who didn’t like sleep. Ashley’s knowledge, understanding, patience, experience and guidance created all of the pieces our family needed. Her step by step plan gave us clear and concise direction and the tools, based on our child and family needs, to succeed. The support and motivation I received regularly throughout the entire process was amazing and helped to push through the more difficult days. We now have a napping, full night sleeping, very well rested, happier, healthier baby girl. We have reached a sleep goal in our home, I truly believed wouldn’t be possible. Our family is so incredibly grateful for Petite Sleep and would absolutely recommend Ashley. Mom of Ella, 11 months

Monsters under the bed. The boogieman in the closet. Scary dinosaurs behind the curtain. Our toddlers have big imaginations and I’m sure you’ve heard it all. Nighttime fears can be very real for our little ones. The key is to validate and reassure while confidently letting them know that they don’t exist. Ditch the monster sprays and stop looking for the boogieman under the bed. All this does is perpetuate their fears and show them that maybe these scary things DO exist! Prov...ide a little extra reassurance and comfort when nighttime fears creep in. If a nightlight is needed, make sure you are only using one with an amber hue as to not disrupt their sleep. And good luck! This too is another phase and shall pass. : Ten2Ten Photography #sleepconsulting #fearofthedark #fearofdark #babysleep #getmesleep #toddlersleep #bedtimeroutine #naps #soothingroutine #sleepcoaching #routine #babies #toddlers #babiessleep #gentlesleep #napsonthego #babynaps #babysleep #sleepcoach #toddlersleep #sleepenvironment #sleeptips #postpartumlife #sleepbabysleep #sleepconsultant #momlife #gentlesleeptraining #sleeptraining #sleephelp #newborn

Is your little one up at the crack of dawn and you’re at your wits end? Since it’s starting to get lighter earlier and earlier, I thought it was a good time to talk about early rising! There are three main culprits that are responsible for early rising: 1 The bedroom is too bright. Even the slightest bit of light can decrease the production of melatonin and wake our little ones too early.... 2 Bedtime is too late. I know it sounds counterintuitive but if a child is overtired, they are more apt to wake during the night and rise early. 3 Parents are responding too early. Even the most well-intentioned parent can be helping to reinforce early rising if they are responding by going in, giving cuddles, feeding, rocking, etc. Think about it if your little ones are getting that kind of attention at 5am, they have no incentive to sleep longer! What can we do? 1 Bump bedtime up earlier! Remember: sleep = sleep and the more well-rested your child is, the more apt they are to have a more consolidated sleep with less wake ups and actually sleep in longer in the morning! 2 Make sure their room is DARK. And I mean, REALLY dark. No light peeking in from anywhere. 3 Don’t respond before 6am (or your okay to wake time) and allow your little one to learn to sleep longer. With older children (2.5 years and up), you can try using an okay-to-wake clock that helps to remind them that it’s still nighttime. #earlyriser #earlyrising #sleepconsulting #sleep #babysleep #sleepcoaching #transitions #getmesleep #toddlersleep #infantsleep #bedtimeroutine #naps #soothingroutine #sleepcoaching #sleepconsultant #routine #babies #toddlers #babiessleep #gentlesleep #sleepenvironment #sleeplonger

White noise is one of my favourite tools for sleep. It’s fantastic for creating a consistent hum to block out any outside noise and minimize sleep disruptions. And it’s non-habit forming. So, if you don’t have one and you’re noticing that your little one is waking up throughout the night or getting woken up by siblings playing or outside disturbances, try incorporating a white noise machine in their room. You want to make sure that the machine isn’t too loud or too soft whe...n it’s on think the same volume level as standing behind a shower that’s running. You also want to make sure it’s constant throughout the night avoid putting it on a timer. Many white noise machines also have settings that play thunderstorms, lullabies and nature sounds. Avoid using these settings for sleep as they are more stimulating for the brain and will make it more difficult for your little one to get into the deepest, most restorative sleep. You also don’t have to pay a fortune for a fancy sound machine. There are many brands that sell sound machines for under $30 and they all do the trick! Last thing - if there is a light on the sound machine, be sure to cover it up with something like black electrical tape. Even the tiniest light can have a negative impact on sleep. : Ten2Ten Photography #whitenoise #soundmachine #sleepconsulting #babysleep #getmesleep #toddlersleep #infantsleep #bedtimeroutine #naps #soothingroutine #sleepcoaching #sleepconsulting #routine #babies #toddlers #babiessleep #gentlesleep #napsonthego #babynaps #babysleep #sleepcoach #toddlersleep #sleepenvironment #sleeptips #postpartumlife #sleepbabysleep #momlife #gentlesleeptraining #sleephelp #newborn
