The Embassy of Canada to Libya partnered with International Medical Corps to provide family kits for internally displaced families in Benghazi, affected by rece...nt clashes in Libya. This activity was made possible through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI). The CFLI funding for International Medical Corps Emergency Humanitarian Relief for IDPs project helped 180 Tawergan internally displaced families in Benghazi with basic family support kits. The kits contain three types of items: hygiene supplies and mattresses as well askitchen accessories. The kits were designed for a household of six and were distributed on 28 February 2015. The beneficiaries targeted include the most vulnerable Tawerga families, who were previously in Heles and Gharoinis Camps in Benghazi, and then in October 2014,upon the aggravation the conflict in the city, displaced a second time to Ghaminis town, and 9 schools in the 4th district of Benghazi. The distribution was implemented in cooperation with the Libyan Humanitarian Relief Agency (LibAid).
