PG Aikido

Thanks to Posluns Sensei and Groot Sensei for organizing and Yahagi Sensei and all other teachers and practitioners for instruction.

Adult Aikido will start Sept. 19 and be on Tues and Thurs from 7:30-9:00pm. Aikido is a Japanese budo or "martial way" that uses an opponents force to neutralize an attack or aggressive situation. Techniques can range widely in intensity, speed and vigor - from smooth, fluid, and circular body movements that redirect an opponent's momentum with great efficiency, to rapid, linear body movements that intercept an attack and effectively neutralize, throw, or immobilize an aggres...sor. Children's Aikido will start Sept 19 and be held on Tues and Thurs 6:30-7:30pm. Children's Aikido focuses on mental (listening, respect, confidence, working together) and physical (broad and fine motor skills) development through safe Aikido techniques, fun games and general developmental exercises. Classes are held at the YMCA of Northern BC and for kids to participate at least one parent requires a Y membership (children are included in an adult membership). Membership prov...ides access to Aikido and the Y's other programs and facilities. A young adult membership is $39/month and an adult membership is $52/month.
