I wish I had written this sooner but I have been laid up. On Mar 28 I fell while stepping on a curb, And quickly realized I could not stand. Luckily I was not f...ar from my home. It has been an ordeal. And still on going. But it has also made me realize what an amazing neighbourhood I live in. Starting with Cyndy Smith thank you so much for being there, helping get the dog home, helping me get into the ambulance, looking after the dog for me, and picking my sister up at the airport. I am so grateful and humbled by your kindness. To the ambulance driver thank you for getting me there with such compassion and comfort. To the nurses who endured my screaming and resistance, again I am so very sorry for being such a difficult patient. To Dr Ashman who put the knee back together after finding a tibular plateau fracture with 2 cracks in the bone, a torn cartilage and other fun things thank you. When this is over and I join kickboxing I will think of you. To my sister WendyandPaul McCuish who dropped everything come here from the Island to care for me I am ever so touched and thankful. Early on in this all the septic got blocked by tree roots, thank you for looking after that lol. To my other sister Janet Clark who has been there so I can vent thank you, and thank you for the care packages. A huge thank you to Kim Gill from Quiznos, your meal was just what I needed at the time but your friendship and generosity will last forever. To my dear friend Hilda Burbee whose meals have kept me comforted but whose friendship makes me feel even warmer, thank you. To Heather Hamilton thank you for the conversation, the treats and the help with things. To all the neighbours who have supported me through all this I am so humbled. And it just reaffirms for me that I live in the best part of Prince George. To Terri McConnachie who allowed me to vent ...thank you!! And to all the clients I do work for thank you for understanding that my work is not up to snuff right now but I am getting better. Your patience is appreciated. And a HUGE thank you to goes to Audrey Selander Bader who has been there with meals, trips to the doctor, household tasks like cleaning the home, grocery trips and so much more. My dear friend, I shudder to think where I would be now without you. What you have done is appreciated so very much but who you are is loved. I know I am missing people and friends like Alvin and Roger and Helena who were there helping me get to the ambulance. And Darren and Lorie who took the dog for a walk when I could not. I am forever sorry for missing people but thank you all for turning a nightmare experience into something I feel deeply supported and cared for. A recent trip to the doc revealed I will be in the brace and crutches until Jun 24 (37 days, 4hrs and 6 mins away) making 12 weeks in all this but knowing I am not doing it alone makes it bearable.

Back in my old hockey days...I am guessing mid 80s? I do not miss the cold arenas of #NorthernBC in winter or going through the Pine Pass in Feb but this bunch of #Quesnel girls were amazing, we even won the provincials! I must say I do not remember the perm! I do wish I was in shape like that again though, now it requires a nap and a red bull to get the mail.
