Hi everyone, We have included some recent articles below that discuss how delaying the 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine may provide better protection than shorter intervals, some early information on getting the Pfizer vaccine as a 2nd dose after getting the AstraZeneca vaccine first, and why getting the AstraZeneca vaccine before its 1st dose pause was the right decision. Those who got the AstraZeneca vaccine played a huge part in falling case numbers as case counts were very... high in March and April. The vaccine still is very effective at preventing serious illness however with more consistent mRNA vaccine supply coming in, there is no need to continue with the AstraZeneca vaccine for 1st doses as a small number of rare clots have been reported in Ontario. To those of you on our waitlist, we are expecting to shift to the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine very soon and will be in contact with you as soon as we have a dose for you. We apologize for any delays in scheduling an appointment thus far however, since the vaccine eligibility dropped to 40+ just over 3 weeks ago, all of our expected shipments had been re-directed to hotspot regions. To those who received a first dose AstraZeneca vaccine with us, your second dose appointment is still scheduled. We are closely monitoring updates as the science evolves and will be in touch with you with any new information as we receive it. Remember, you do not have to meet the current eligibility criteria to register to be on the waitlist.
