To reduce wait times and speed up access to results for those at greatest risk of illness, #COVID19 testing is now offered only to Albertans in the following li...sted groups, at this time. Effective today, testing in Alberta is for: Albertans with symptoms of COVID-19 Albertans who are close contacts of a confirmed case, whether symptomatic or not Albertans who are linked to a known outbreak, whether symptomatic or not Those who do not fall into the groups listed above, including those previously considered priority groups, will not be able to book new appointments for asymptomatic testing in Alberta at this time. Existing appointments will be honoured. The online AHS assessment tool has been updated to support this new testing criteria, ensuring those eligible can still easily book new appointments for testing as needed. Existing appointments will be honoured. Pharmacies across Alberta will also be implementing these new criteria. No new appointments for asymptomatic testing will be offered through pharmacies. We thank all Albertans who received asymptomatic testing in recent months. This helped us better understand transmission risks. In fact, it showed us that only 0.11% of all asymptomatic Albertans with no known exposures were positive.
