Last month we had the pleasure of meeting with one of Toronto's Mobile Crisis Intervention Teams (MCIT). A collaboration between an experienced mental health nurse with a specialized trained officer, they are trained and called into situations dealing with mental health, addiction and public safety. This uniquely trained team is routinely called in to deescalate and resolve complex and sometimes high risk situations.
