This Labour Day long weekend, we honour the people who fought for workers’ rights and we remember that, thanks to the labour movement, we now have minimum wage, the weekend, overtime pay, paid vacation and benefits like maternity/paternity leave, workplace safety, retirement security and so much more!

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. This year has been harder than most. COVID-19 measures continue to have devastating, unintended consequences for people who use substances. Last month 175 people died because of illicit drug toxicity. This is heartbreaking for all of us.... Today we remember those we’ve lost and pledge to do all we can to #EndOverdose. We also honour the extraordinary efforts of our staff especially at Crosstown Clinic and St. Paul’s Hospital in responding to this crisis affecting our city and province. #IOAD2020
