AND... An African Safari painting for KIDS! This months Black Owned Business is one that is close to home. Femme Noir - The Virtual Experience @femmenoir.to is a non-for profit organization with the mission of creating jobs for women of colour and promoting awareness and inclusion in the Canadian Entertainment Industries. Due to Covid-19, like many artistic endeavours, Femme Noir incurred a lot of loss and has now started a GoFund Me campaign to gain the projects momentum again. Black Owned TO is a business started by Kerin John, a young entrepreneur looking to help support black owned businesses in Toronto. As she began her endeavour she quickly realized there were little resources to locate black businesses within the city of Toronto. She has since created the page Black Owned TO on Instagram and is looking to create the Black Owned Toronto Business Convention in 2021. This month Sky Phoenix is hoping to raise money to help this young founder in her mission to help support other Black owned businesses across the GTA. I am a Black Woman! I build .... I don't tear down other BLACK WOMEN and MEN! We have felt the pain of being torn down and I have decided I will be deliberate about building others! I support and have always supported my black sisters and brothers and only want the best for you! All too often, we black women and men find it easier to criticize each other, instead of building each other up. With all the negativity going around let's do something positive!!
