Many are asking what government programs are/will be available to help small businesses through these tough times. So, I wanted to provide the following links and information to government and private corporation sites that outline the available loans , grants and incentives to help SME. https://www.canada.ca//introduces-canada-eme...rgency-respons Financial Support for Businesses Small Business Grants Program | Facebook is offering $100M in cash grants and ad credits for up to 30,000 eligible small businesses in over 30 countries where we operate. Wage Subsidy | Eligible small employers will receive a wage subsidy for a period of three months. This is equal to 10% of the remuneration paid during that period, up to a maximum subsidy of $1,375 per employee and $25,000 per employer. Frequently Asked Questions Defer Tax Filing | Businesses can defer the payment of any income tax amounts that become owing on or after today and before September 2020. The government will not initiate any GST/HST or Income Tax audits for the next four weeks. Emergency Care Benefit | Up to $1000 bi-weekly, for up to 16 weeks for workers who need to stay home due to illness, parents who need to take care of children, or those taking care of a sick family member. Small Business Loan | Low-interest loans up to $100,000 if your business has been generating revenues for at least 24 months. Purchase Order Financing | Cover up to 90% of the purchase order amount to ease cash flow to your suppliers. Work-Sharing Program | Temporary special measures for the downturn in business due to COVID-19 and for the forestry and steel and aluminum sector EDC | Export Development Canada | Under the federal government's new Business Credit Availability Program (BCAP), Export Development Canada (EDC) and the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) can now provide more than $10 billion of additional financing to customers facing economic challenges from COVID-19. During these unprecedented times the Federal government announced an economic response aid package, to support Canadians and Canada Small Businesses. This aid package is to address the growing economic impact of the COVID- 19 pandemic. For most, we are all probably asking the same questions? What is the aid package? What does mean for me and people close to me? To summarize, here are some of the key benefits for individuals and business owners:... Employed & Self-employed individuals: * Waiving the one-week waiting period for EI benefits * Waiving the requirements to provide medical certificate for EI Sick benefits * New Emergency Care Benefit providing $900 bi-weekly, for 15 weeks for workers, including self-employed, who are quarantined or sick due to the COVID-19 virus. This program includes workers or self-employed, who are taking care of elderly family members, or parents with children at home. Benefits will be available in April, 2020 and you can apply for the benefits through the following three channels: 1. Accessing on CRA My acount portal 2. Accessing on My Service Canada account 3. By calling a toll free number with automated application process. Simply attest that you meet the qualifications and the benefits will be approved.
