A little bit of photoshop fun. Combination of bubble photos, night sky, aurora borealis, and moon photo. All photos I've taken over the years and some crazy imagination. And, no, I wasn't on anything!! :) Which one do you like better?

Oh this bubble ice cream cone makes me smile!

I have started a bubble collection. It's my first attempt and I'll have to try to improve my lighting. But the colours and designs are other-worldly!

I did a 7 day Toilet Paper series, starting Monday March 16 to Sunday March 22, to document this very unique week. My sense of humor and creativity got activated this week so share these as you wish and have a laugh.

I recently picked up this LED light from GVM, It's an 80watt led and I've been quite impressed with it so far. So I took this product shot and in photoshop made it look like an add...maybe GVM will hire me, LOL.

Abstract Light, used with 2 photos. One open shutter light motion photo and the other using glass reflections.

This Photo is one of my favourite photos that I have taken in a long time...it speaks to me in a very emotional way. I was editing it while I was watching "The Last Full Measure", a powerful true story of bravery and sacrifice in the midst of war. As the story came to an end I finished the last touches of this edit and both the story and the photo made me cry! I don't know the story of this old car, what it has seen and who it carried along in its now beat up interior. It w...as put out to pasture a long time ago in this grave site of time and decay. Trees have long grown around it, many winters and summers have come and gone...does anyone remember it's stories? I'm thankful for those who are around me, for those I know and those I love and our stories... I hope this picture will make you stop and ponder and be thankful and that someone in your life won't be forgotten today...like this old Pontiac. I thought of you today...and smiled! :)

Creative distraction... :)

When it comes to photography I have very little to say. They may not always be good photos, they may not always make sense even...I guess it's more about expression. I like how the image makes me feel, either the colour, or the lines or just it's imagination. I look at something, take the picture and edit it and see where it takes me. Sometimes it makes me smile and sometimes it makes me think and sometimes it's just the creative process for the sake of creating. It's my little world and letting you all be a part of it just makes my world a bit bigger...and hopefully yours too. This picture was taken sitting in my studio with a 100mm macro, a perspective from my point of view. When you look around your room, what do you see? Have a great day... :)

Deer walking around Whitecourt...it always seems that I have to be in a town to find the animals.

I played around with "Time" today! But to be truthful it was far more serendipitous than the images may suggest. Mostly it was about story, leaving you to ponder what was all happening in the process. I particularly liked the Einstein on the coin shots...the one person who understood time in a very unique way...both perceived and unperceived. ... We all experience time but we don't have the same experiences in time. We measure it in our joys and sorrows, gains and losses. Each with our own perspectives, looking through our own lenses. So I thought I would start 2020 with a rather whimsical exploration of time. I would be glad to hear your thoughts and input as you peruse through these images of time. :)

I was out photographing the birds at the feeder and I quite unexpectedly caught Chawley flying into my frame. As I was zoomed in pretty close I actually jumped just as I clicked the frame. The bird got away and I quickly looked at my camera to see if he actually got in the frame. And this is what I found!

For those of you who are interested in my photography and want to know what I use to shoot with, I thought I'd give a bit of an update. This fall I have been rearranging my gear to simplify and focus. I previously had a Canon 5D2 (fullframe) which I loved very much but wanted some updated tech! And a 70D (crop sensor). Sold those and got a 6D2 and a 15mm lens. My aim is to focus on the quality of my lenses and with the 6D2 it is a combination of the 5D2 and 80D which all...ows me to just work with one camera. Also I am trying to do some videoing work and the 6D2 with work well for now. My Current lens collection: What I love and don't love 1. Canon 70-200mm IS f2.8 L series This is my absolute favourite lens in the world and worst favourite! One of the best portrait lenses ever made, the bokeh is amazingly soft. It is very fast in low light and accurate...but it is a BEAST of a lens. Works like a tank and weighs like a tank. A true love hate relationship but connected to a fullframe sensor the results are always stunning. The most expensive lens I will probably ever own! 2. Canon 24-105mm IS f4.0 L series My workhorse lens. Does a bit of everything well but not fantastic by any means. A great Fullframe kit lens but not the crispest lens and slow. This is also a very heavy and solidly built lens that is great for walking around the city with. If anything this is a lens that I would like to have upgraded, as I would like all my lenses f2.8 or faster. The nice thing is that third party lenses like Tamron and Sigma are coming up with some real good value fast lenses. 3. Canon 50mm f1.4 A bit of a step up from the "nifty fifty" f1.8. A lens everyone should have. Fast, light and fun. The f1.4 shallow depth of field is crazy small and not super sharp until stopped up to f2.0 at least. Great for portraits and creative work. This lens will ruin you for life...you'll be craving for those fast, shallow depth of field and beautiful Bokeh in every lens from here on out! 4. Canon 100m f2.8 Macro. This is a fantastically fast, sharp and reasonably priced lens. Its greatest downfall is no Image Stabilization. To get that you will have to go to Canon's L series and spend MORE. This is a great portrait lens also and one must always have a macro in your kit to get those fun detail shots. This is a wedding must have...preferably the stabilized version. 5. Irix Firefly 15mm F2.4 Manual Focus So this is my latest acquirement. A superwide, fast lens for shooting the stars! I have wanted to do some night sky photography for some time and this became an option. Its a Swiss design, Korean made lens. Great quality for the money. As with most budget friendly super wides this is manual focus, but the aperture is electronic. I'm looking forward to some creative fun with this lens. If you have questions about photography or lenses feel free to chat.

It has been a while since I photographed this old wooden bridge. One of North America’s longest wooden train trestles is located just east of the hamlet, which crosses over the Paddle River valley and Highway 43. Northwest of Edmonton. I roughed this up to look like an old photo to match the history of this bridge.
