When I first started my photography journey (which unbelievably, was just over 11 years ago), I found myself on a crazy emotional roller coaster.... One day, I would feel on top of the world, so excited how far my images and style had evolved. The next day (usually after browsing some other photographer facebook pages), I would feel like I was a completely newbie (which I was!), and be disappointed with my images. But here's the thing I soon realized...there will always, ALWAYS be photographers I admire and aspire to grow into. What is important is to ask yourself, "Am I growing?" If the answer is yes, give yourself a 'high five!' and be kind to yourself. Learning new skills (lighting, posing, pricing, sales presentations, etc) takes practice (and time!). If the answer is no, then make a commitment to practicing, to finding new mentors, to expanding your horizons. We’re all hard-wired for growth. You’ve got this!
