I interrupt the regular broadcast of cute dogs and horses to bring you photos of a pet quail that wanders my neighbourhood! This is Apple Sauce. She lives about 150m from me as the crow... er, quail flies (which isn't very well, incidentally). She paid me a visit yesterday morning while sheltering from the rain, loudly announcing her presence ("ha ha HA, ha ha HA"). It turns out she's quite the photogenic little thing, as she happily hopped up on the vintage box I just bought to photograph puppies in (coming soon!). Jeanie and Rick had planned their wedding to be downtown this summer, but due to the restrictions, they decided to move it to their backyard with only immediate family in attendance. I've always loved small, intimate weddings, so it was a treat to capture this beautiful ceremony. <3 This slideshow is set to an instrumental version of Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful" :)

Last weekend I photographed the Outlaw Riders Drill Team at the Pine Tree Riding Club in Barnhartvale, Kamloops. This talented group of young ladies put on an amazingly coordinated show in the chilly weather! They have been practicing for months and it shows. :)

I enjoyed designing this video slideshow for Judy and Sandra, who have been best friends for 67 years. They ride together often on their horses Izzie and Pardo, and it was so fun capturing them doing what they love! Sandra is enduring a difficult hardship right now, but Judy is there is support her. The lyrics of Blake Shelton's song, God Gave Me You, reminded me of their inspiring, enduring friendship. Regardless of religious affiliation, the lyrics ring true for those w...ho can count on their friends, partners, and families in times of need: "You stay here right beside me Watch as the storm goes through God gave me you for the ups and downs, God gave me you for the days of doubt And for when I think I've lost my way There are no words here left to say, it's true God gave me you" <3

Let's forget about the snow for a moment and go back to Tuesday, when it was still autumn and Kelsey and Ryan were taking their leaf throwing responsibilities VERY seriously. This couple was so cute and lovey with each other, plus fun to boot! We had a blast photographing at a nearby waterfall too. Stay tuned for more!

Happy fall ya'll! I've been collecting leaves to use for photoshoots. Who wants to come play in my pile of autumn goodness besides my dog? :D

Sandra and Judy have been riding together for an amazing 67 years! Judy has previously told me she doesn't consider herself photogenic, which I hear all the time from other clients. I find it easy to convince people otherwise once they see their photos! This time, I got out of my car, chatted with the ladies for a few minutes, and snapped this perfect picture with two smiling friends, two alert horses standing square (Pardo and Izzy), and even Bolt the Whippet posing! It doesn't get easier than that! I went on to take many more lovely photos of them on this warm October day at the Tournament Capital Ranch in Kamloops.

Apparently it's National Black Dog Day, and as it happens, I got to photograph two black dogs today! Here is Robi, the energetic eight month old pup, and Herc, the slightly more reserved 11 year old. <3 They are English Shepherds, and April has trained them both so well -- what a pleasure to work with!
