So nice to have Old Broad Road and Hazards of the Trade mentioned in this newspaper interview with Susan Chamberlain of The Book Keeper.
Miramichi Reader posted this excerpt from my debut novel Old Broad Road.
Crossfield books have arrived at the Fitzhenry Whiteside Warehouse. Today, it's time for me to move boxes instead of open them. Plus, one should never forget ho...w one got there, finally. It's a special day for us and our authors, with many thanks to my biz partner who took a day off to drive. See more
The other day someone told me about the memoir they'd written. It must have been difficult to re-live this time of their life, but hopefully it was cathartic for them, too. Later, out of nowhere, a random thought crossed my mind. There are two kinds of writers: those who have a story to tell, and those whose story they have to tell. Well, my friends, that was my profound thought of the day. Have a great week everyone!
I've kept journals most of my life. Actually, I Wrote in journals most of my life, but it wasn't practical to keep all of them. Before I scrapped some of the old books, I copied all the entries pertaining to my son and emailed them to him. I thought he'd get a kick out reading the anecdotes he'd have been too young to remember. Recently, I gave my granddaughters journals and encouraged them to entrust their feelings and emotions and record the mundane, because that's what will be important to them later in life.
