I have attended Fitness Kickboxing Instructor course yesterday and it was pretty intense. This is my Nike Fuelband activity chart from yesterday and as you can see the only idle time was a lunch break. Nevertheless I enjoyed it greatly. Fitness Kickboxing is non-dull cardio workout and I'm looking forward to incorporate it into my client's routines.

I took TRX Trainer course last fall and immediately became a big fan of it. TRX is a suspension training based on bodyweight exercises. While it may seem there is not much you can do with just body weight, once you start practicing it you will be amazed how many different exercises are there. During TRX workout in addition to basic muscle groups training you are also strengthening your core and improving balance, because, you are, well,... suspended. My favourite thing about TRX is that it requires minimum equipment and space. You can mount it on chin-up bar, tree branch or even on a door (just make sure your door is solid enough). This allows you to perform full body workouts at home, in the park or even in the hotel room. Cool stuff.

Wanted to share this great youtube yoga channel. There are lots of videos from basic sequences to advanced power yoga workouts. Nothing beats a good stretch after a long day. http://www.youtube.com/user/derekanderson2000?feature=watch

Home made smoothies make a great pre-workout or recovery drink. There are tons of recipes out there and I am going to try several of those and share results with you. Today I am making the Green Smoothie. It is rich in potassium, vitamin C and has cheerful green color :) Ingredients: 2 ripe medium bananas... 1 ripe pear or apple, peeled if desired, chopped 2 cups chopped kale leaves, tough stems removed 1/2 cup cold orange juice 2 cups cold water 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed Everything goes into blender and pureed until smooth. Makes 3 servings. Marina: It actually tastes much better than it looks and better than I expected. It has a daily serving of dark leafy greens and is a vitamin boost as well. I'm definitely making this again. Danil: I love the color and it tasted good! It turned out a bit chunky, but I blame our food processor for this. I'd add more liquid though.
