May 12, 2021 Vaccination Clinic Update We have had strong numbers of local residents being vaccinated over the weekend and over the past 3 days. The whole of community vaccination clinic will continue tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday they will be doing a mobile clinic in Field at Emerald Lake Lodge. Golden remains a hot spot for Interior Health this week so it is really important that we get as many vaccinated as possible as soon as possible. If you want to see fewer... restrictions, more businesses fully open and the option to travel restored this summer, now is the time to get out and get your vaccine. Data released today showed Revelstoke and Invermere at a 60-80% vaccination range and Golden at 40-60%. We can do better and now is the time to show it! Go online at getvaccinated.gov.bc.ca or phone 1-833-838-2323 and book your appointment. You will need to specify this is for the whole of community vaccination for Golden at the Golden Curling Rink. In Field you will need to specify Emerald Lake Lodge as the call takers really have no idea about BC geography it would appear. May 9, 2021 Community Vaccination Update We had another amazing day with over 400 people immunized. There were glitches with the booking system and not everyone at the call centre had got the memo about Golden having a whole community vaccination site. We appreciate the patience of all of you who waded through the challenges and showed up today. Thank you to Emma Pattinson for tackling the tech challenges, it should be much more straightforward to book for the rest of the wee...k. Please remember to specify that you are booking for a whole community vaccination clinic. Also double check your time of appointment- they seem to be struggling with the concept of Mountain Time and there may be a 1 hour difference between your bar code and the time you booked for. Use the earlier of the two. Thanks also to all the workers organizing and administering vaccines, especially the mums who spent today keeping our community just a little bit safer. See more

May 8, 2021 Community Vaccination Update We have started our whole of community vaccination clinics! Today over 300 people were vaccinated. Flow through the curling rink was good, there were only a few times where it got a bit congested. We have received more vaccine than originally anticipated for the beginning of the clinic. This has allowed more appointments to be opened up and THERE ARE OVER 100 SPOTS AVAILABLE FOR SUNDAY. Go online and register and let’s get it done Gold...en! People who currently are diagnosed with Covid -19 should book appointments for as soon as your period of isolation ends. People self isolating due to exposure should do the same. Every adult 18+ in town is eligible- those who live here full time or part time, those working here year round or seasonally, those with BC Healthcare and those without, Canadians and non-Canadians. If you are here in Golden now we want to vaccinate you. Although Pfizer is now approved for adolescents 12-17 the plan for providing them with vaccination is not yet launched. They are not included in the current mass vaccination clinics. Many people in town are not on social media and may be unaware of this community opportunity. Please contact all your friends and let them know that now is the time to register at either getvaccinated.gov.bc.ca or by calling 1-833-838-2323. People without BC Healthcare will need to register by phone. Lines are open every day from 0800-2000 MDT.
