Monday Move: More Ankle Mobility Another Monday, feeling especially grateful or this one (thank you daylight savings time). Despite the slight sleep disruption, the longer evenings are totally worth it . How is your ankle mobility? I got some inspo for this week’s moves from an amazing yoga teacher (@jenni_rawlings, check her out!). I love how this is progressively getting more weight bearing through the ankle joint but you are still in control, can stay in your comfor...t zone and ease into the stiffness. The second exercise is working only on the dorsiflexion (#mynemesis). Video speed 1.2x, in real life I slow this down quite a bit and pause at the end of the range for a few seconds. #mondaymoves #physioyogq #physiotherapy #yoga #fallriverns #kinetesis #fraba Music: Balloon Musician: @iksonofficial See more

Monday Moves: Ankle Dorsi & Plantar flexion Happy March! Have you been including your feet in your movement practice? Sometimes I forget that my ankles and feet need as much attention as the other parts of my body that I naturally seem to spend time on. ... In particular, how is your ankle range of motion? The foot and ankle can move in many wonderful ways, but the two main movements I want to focus in on this month are and . These Monday Moves will get progressively harder during March and by that, I mean we will increase the amount of load through the ankle joint. In yoga (and life and many other types of movement), the ankle is required to do end ranges of these directions. Think how much your ankle needs to bend with malasana (a deep squat) or how much your foot needs to point with poses like triangle or hero. If you've been noticing some stiffness in your ankle joint, try following along with these Monday Moves. Goes without saying, listen to your body and if working in this end of range is new for you, be kind to yourself. These are general recommednations and seeing someone (like a physiotherapist ) 1:1 can give you a more individualized plan. #mondaymoves #physioyoga #ankle #rangeofmotion #squatdeeper #physiotherapy #physioflow #kinetesis #fallriverns Video speed 1.5x Music: Discover Musician: @iksonofficial See more

Monday Move: baby back bend, bigger back bend People seem to love them or hate them. I’m more on the latter end. Back bends have never felt good for me even though I’m more on the flexible side. That being said it’s still something I work on, now only slower and with more control. This sequence starts more in the upper back and works its way to the lower back. The middle exercise adds in mobility with strength - attempting to actively lift the chest as high as you can ...when your hands are on the floor. #workinprogress #mondaymoves #mobility #physioyoga #fraba #kinetesis #physiotherapy Speed 1.2x Music: Early Hours Musician: @iksonofficial
