Meet Deanna- the second new physiotherapist at Physiomoves! Deanna obtained her Master of Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia (UBC) after completing her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta. Growing up in the East Kootenays of BC, Deanna has an engrained love for being active and enjoying everything the surrounding mountains and lakes had to offer. . Deanna strives to empower her patients to achieve goals that... are important to them, and to get back to the activities they love no matter what those look like. Whether it is anything from rehabbing an injury to return to competitive or recreational sport, or preventing injury and maintaining independence with functional activities, Deanna is keen to help. She recognizes that each person, along with their experience of an injury is unique. Deanna will work with each patient to create a rehabilitation plan that best suits them and their lifestyle. . Meet Michael Li- one of our two new physiotherapists at Physiomoves! Michael completed both his Masters of Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. He was driven to pursue a career in Physical Therapy after experiencing the positive impacts of Physical Therapy first hand as a competitive athlete. With his background in coaching, Michael strives to empower clients throughout their unique rehabilitation journey as well as preventing future injuries. Michael speaks conversational Mandarin. He works Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays at the Ocean Park Clinic. Welcome to the Physiomoves Family!

We are excited to announce that physiotherapy appointments are available at both our locations and massage therapy is available at Ocean Park as of today! Please call in to book an appointment or secure your spot online. We are also still providing virtual care for those patients who are not yet able to come to the clinic. We’re back! Along with British Columbia’s goal to move into phase two of reintegrating, we will be opening our physical locations on May 19th. However, we are not booking anyone yet to come in, as we are still waiting to hear about protocols from our Provincial Government. The health and safety of our clients and staff is the main priority, and therefore we are planning to begin booking massage, physiotherapy, and kinesiology appointments starting next week. We will be sending out further updates as soon as we have more information, so watch for the news!

In light of COVID-19 and the information and direction provided by health care professionals, we are keeping our clinics closed indefinitely. Our hearts are with those still working during these times and continuing to support our society. Lisa has been working at our clinic for 1.5 years now and we are so lucky to have her as part of our Physiomoves Family. Lisa is not only a skilled and successful physiotherapist, but her adventurous personality has also led her to some awesome life experiences. From voyaging through the Amazon in Peru to scuba diving in Colombia - we are always happy to hear about her adventures. Virtual Care will be available soon at Physiomoves. We having been working hard to provide continuity of care while our clinics are closed. We will be using secure video technology to provide ongoing treatment and education. Virtual Care allows you and your physiotherapist to connect via video technology to receive physiotherapy services at a distance when an in-person visit is not possible. Virtual Care is most useful in situations where exercise, education, self-manag...ement instruction, and monitoring are primary methods used to accomplish the therapeutic goals. We wish to offer virtual Care to all those patients who are interested and are appropriate to help with the continuity of care until we are safely able to reopen Physiomoves clincs.
