Hi friends!! Just a quick reminder that we are OPEN for Takeout Tuesdays-Saturday 11-5 However, our dining room remains closed, in particular as COVID numbers surge just south of us in the GTA. We were waiting to see whether we should re-open after school started, watching the numbers closely. Given the tiny size of our dining room and the way the air circulates, we believe the risk is not one we can take. Our protocol remains: takeout only. As the patio gets packed up for the season, we will ask any customers who are entering the building to pick up takeout to please wear a mask, as per the Health Unit guidelines. Thank you so much for your continued support. Pia’s is here for you, and you’ve been here for us. That’s the true meaning of community. We have some exciting things planned for the Fall/Winter. Hi sweet friends! We are going camping! We haven’t had a summer holiday since Owynne was born 5 years ago (giving birth isn’t much of a holiday, but it was transformative nonetheless!). We are so excited to take our kiddos to an old favourite provincial park for some much needed family time. BUT great news: WE ARE BACK OPEN ON TUESDAYS! Starting September 8th. We are busy prepping bread and meats for the week ahead today but I wanted to share two yummy ideas with you! If you’re already out of your @orangevillefarmersmarket goodies from the weekend, the berry stand at Fred’s Tire is a great mid-week treat. If you can hold off eating all of your fruit at once, try making a summer tart. Something @piawiesen taught me is that you can throw together a summer tart in under five minutes. Yesterday afternoon she sent me home with this d...ough- which @xel.campbell put together into this wonderful tart since I was busy making pasta sauce. Her recipe is simple: ROUGHLY two cups of flour, 1.5 cups of butter, an egg, and 1/3 cup of sugar. Just mix those ingredients with your hands until you’ve got a nice dough (her words). She’s been doing it this way our whole life. No precise measurements. If you hate baking because you don’t like measuring things, this might be for you. See more

We know that many of you have been so excited to come in and eat with your friends. But we have to keep you, our community, our staff, and ourselves healthy. Pia’s only has a capacity of 30 people, and social distancing measures would likely only allow us to serve between 8-10 people at a time. We are going to keep assessing the situation (looking at the numbers, noting whether Phase 3 has led to any uptick in cases) and decide our next steps accordingly. Thank you so very much for all of you who continue to support us and continue to eat local, healthy (and also, comfort-food) takeout. We love you, and are so grateful to you. Stay Safe!
