This weeks pizza of the week is an innovation in wood-fired pizza making The El Colin starts with a unique tomato base, simmered with salt, black pepper, cayenne, cumin, and chili flakes. #Teamtuesday featuring the leader of our Duckworth St location Drew! He started with the Piatto family at Midtown before moving down to Duckworth St as their GM. Drew moved here from Winnipeg and has fallen in love with the province. Here's some fun facts about Drew. favorite family tradition is celebrating old Christmas day with a Ukraine Feast! His first job was McDonald's when he was 15. He met Julia Roberts, when she came into a restaurant were he was working. He show...ed her to her table but was to shy to say anything! favorite place to visit is Costa Rica to the point he'd like to move there someday. Best meal his ever had was his fathers slow cooked brisket In his down time he likes to take care of his plants and trying to spot his cats from destroying them! The Avalon Mountain Bike Association (AMBA) and Quidi Vidi Brewery are teaming up to bring us Oceanside, a black currant, black cherry, blackberry sour. This beer drop comes with a cool contest that gets people outdoors and on the move in our beautiful province and also gives back to AMBA initiatives in the process. Some say patio season is over but were hoping we can keep ours going for just a little while longer! For the month of September, we are hosting a series of events called BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket) from our patio on Duckworth Street. Every Thursday a local artist will perform from 5-7 and as always, our Aperitivo where you can get a drink, and one of our appetizers for just $10 is on until 6 pm. We are so excited that we got the chance to team up with Abigale and her family to support the light the night walk! $2 from each of last weeks, Pizza of the Week, The Abigale, will be donated to Light the Night in aid of blood cancer research and support programs. The total amount raised was $550 and the Piatto family is so moved by Abigales determination and bravery that we are going to match that amount for a total donation of $1,100 to further a cause very near and dear to us all.

She's from twillingate and her favorite tradition is a good fish fry with the family in her parents backyard. Her first job was a camp leader for a "food and fun" camp back home teaching kids the health living and cooking classes. She had the pleasure of meeting some Toronto Maple Le...af players including Gary Robert's! She traded fresh crab legs for a signed jersey! She'll never forget the fish tacos at Annie's restaurant in twillingate! Gets them every time she's home for a visit! She has a bucket list of places she'd like to visit someday and can't wait to bring her camera to get those beautiful senic photos! Say hello to meghan next time you're in!
