COVID-19 UPDATE The Ontario government has given us the go ahead to begin the process of re-opening for non-emergency in-person appointments starting June 1st (for both physiotherapy and massage). We are currently in the process of setting up the clinic for social distancing, and ensuring we are abiding by the infection control standard set out by the Ministry of Health and our colleges. We will be re-opening slowly and cautiously step-by-step. If you are interested in an app...ointment with us, please contact us by email ([email protected]) or call and leave a message (613-471-1101) and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Please note we will continue to be offering telehealth services as well. Thank you! The team @ Picton Physio

Update: We are currently only treating patients who require urgent care. Urgent care means your condition has potential for hospitalization, adverse outcomes, or harm if not treated. For non-urgent needs, we now offer virtual tele-health video appointments, which can be a preferred choice for urgent appointments as well. For any questions about setting up a telehealth appointment, or triage for an urgent in-person appointment please email [email protected] or use our websi...tes contact form. Thank you and stay safe!

Yesterday, the Ontario government listed "emergency only physiotherapy" as an essential service. What is deemed "emergency service" is an incapacitating inability to function due to a musculoskeletal issue that would otherwise lead to hospital admission if not treated by a physiotherapist. That does not mean it is safe to open our clinic or see patients in person at this time. To protect you, and ourselves, in most (hopefully all) cases we can address your case via telehealth... video call which can offer assessment, suggestions of exercises, and education. This can all be done from our home to yours. We are not regularly checking our phone messages, so if you have any questions, would like to set up a telehealth video assessment, email us at [email protected] and we will get in contact as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience as we navigate these unprecedented times week by week, and make sure we do so as safely and responsibly as possible. We still want everyone to know we are here for you as much as we can be! -The Team @ Picton Physiotherapy & Sports Injuries Clinic

Update Re: COVID-19 Coronavirus We will cease in person clinical treatment as per the physiotherapy associations recommendations until April 6th. We hope this will help control early exposure to our community members, and have long term effects on transmission rates. We are working on setting up a virtual option for emergency cases, please contact us as [email protected] if you have any questions regarding this. Please stay healthy, be smart and wash your hands!

Update regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus): We wanted to ensure that everyone is aware of our stance with all of the recent changes in Public Health. The health and safety of our patients, staff, and the Community is and always will be our top priority. We continue to follow best practices in infection control, but have taken increased precautions in this time of uncertainty. If you or anyone in your household have:... -fever -shortness of breath -new or worsening cough -traveled outside of Canada in the past 14 days We ask that you please contact us to reschedule your appointment. There will be no charges for any cancellations of this type. If you are unsure of the nature of your symptoms, please call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000. Our clinic hours and services will all remain the same at this time. However, we are closely monitoring the evolving nature of this situation from trusted sources and implement changes as needed. With the recent weather it’s important to keep warm and dry. 20k Sock Day is an initiative to donate socks to homeless shelters so that they can stay warm and dry as well! If you have time to pick up some new warm socks we have a donation box, your generosity would be greatly appreciated!

Excellent research from my favorite kinesiology professor! A good read for people who were laid off from exercise due to injury or other reasons and need to get back into condition for sport quickly. http://dailynews.mcmaster.ca//no-time-to-get-fit-think-ag/
