The wonderful staff at the Pictou County SPCA shelter and all of their four legged friends were very excited to receive our donation of $2000 today. Especially ...Charlie boy who jumped right out of his cat stand to check it out! On behalf of the Pictou County Pups team I would like to thank all of our community members for making this a possibility. Of course this wasn’t the original goal of having a fenced in dog park but there was a great feeling of accomplishment when I handed that envelope over this morning. We should all be very proud of this! I know that the money will be put to good use. I would also like to give my thanks to my team for their time and effort that they gave to make this happen. Dog Park Fundraiser - UPDATE Hello members, I am writing to you today to inform you that a decision has been made to cancel the dog park fundraiser. I know that this will weigh heavy with those of you that have been with us since the beginning and those of you that have supported us since we began this project.... There are several factors which influenced this decision, but the biggest is simply timing. I could rhyme off a hundred other reasons but I’m going to keep this short and sweet. It’s bad timing in a lot of ways for a lot of people. Perhaps it is something that can be looked at again in the future. This being said, as I stated in the previous update regarding this fundraiser those who made straight cash donations towards the fundraiser can and will receive a refund if they choose. If you have donated directly and would like a refund then please contact us and we will verify and refund as necessary. The rest of the money that was raised through selling merchandise, draws or bottle donations will be given to a rescue or other dog related business of the groups choice. This will be voted on and decided in the coming weeks. To those of you that supported this cause, thank you. To those of you that are here simply for the contests, to look at pictures or give and receive advice, thank you. It is our community as a whole that made Pictou County Pups what it is. Although we’ve hit a bump in the road we hope that you will all still continue to both use the community group and visit our page for contests. Thank you, Anthony Smith Founder Pictou County Pups
