Five of the festival’s eight galas originate from or were filmed on the East Coast, including Governor General’s Award-winning Nova Scotia-based filmmaker William D. MacGillivray’s heartwarming dramatic feature Under the Weather (Sept. 19), about a family helping a beloved uncle face a terminal cancer diagnosis.
