Under the mask piercings during covid. When we where allowed to reopen we consulted with our local health board as well went above what was required to ensure o...ur staff and clients where very safe and secure getting services at our studio. We where advised not to offer any oral piercings and nose piercings. The APP also advised against offering these services as well and since we are applying to be an APP studio we have to follow rules. With the lower numbers during the summer months we did allow nose piercings to happen but as soon as the numbers spiked we stopped as it is very risky to be that close to someone's face as people do cough and sneeze with piercings. The health inspector was by on Tuesday to once again go over policy and procedure and again advised on no under the mask services. I KNOW there is a studio in town doing these piercings, and I actually feel very bad for them as they are apprentices with no guidance and no one to tell them how to be safe. They have no mentor and are figuring this out on their own, I hope they do not catch covid due to the fact what they are doing is very risky and not advised. I keep having customers ( with issues from this shop ) come in asking for help with their piercings but we can not offer that service at the moment. I ask that before you get antsy and just do it, rethink why the other studios are not offering this service. Thanks safety first piercings later. See more
