Pilates with Sarah 26.02.2021

There is no doubt the holidays are looking different for everyone this year. From social distancing, to masks, to small gatherings - if any gatherings at all, and now..another province wide lockdown.... This comes with adding more stress/anxiety to an already difficult year. I just want to remind everyone to be easy on themselves during this time. It’s ok to feel sad that you you’re not able to do some of your yearly traditions. It’s also ok to feel excited about creating some new ones! It’s ok if you simplify the holidays this year. It’s also ok if you are going all out! It’s amazing to shop local small businesses. But it’s ok if you also need to get something off Amazon. It’s normal to feel sad that you may not be seeing your friends and family this year. It is also ok for feeling a little relief for not having to attend a huge family gathering. It’s ok. It’s all ok. Do what is best for your family and your mental health this holiday season. Be gentle with yourself, take a moment to breath, reach out to friends and family, take some time off social media, read a book, pour a cup of tea.. do whatever brings you calm. Have a safe and happy Holiday Season everyone #2020christmas #2020holidayseason

Tonight wraps up the last Monday evening pilates class of 2020. Although it feels like I didn’t instruct many classes this year due to covid19, I’m feeling so grateful to have had classes at all. 2020 has been an overwhelming year to say the least, but I’ve learned to be thankful for all the little things we take for granted regularly..and teaching an in-studio class surrounded by beautiful souls is definitely one of them. HOW TO FIND INSPIRATION DURING THIS TRYING TIME: . yoga & meditation - this is a way in which we tune out the distractions of the outside world, and clear our mind to make space for inspiration and possibilities. . get outside for a peaceful walk in nature.... . be motivated by others by watching TED talks or listening to podcasts. . try a new hobby that you have always wanted to do, but secretly thought you might be terrible at. Trying something new can be fun and inspiring whether you’re good at it or not! . stay connected. FaceTime friends, drink wine and catch up via video chat, play a virtual bored game, or even watch a movie together! We must all be so grateful for technology keeping us together right now. . lastly, don’t lose faith in humanity!
